- Open the Microsoft Personal Web Server control panel and click the Web Site button. The folder that will be published is listed in the Set Up Web Site area. By default, Personal Web Server creates a My Personal Web site folder on your hard disk that can be used to store the files that will be published on your Web site. You can change the folder to be published.
By default, Microsoft Personal Web Server also creates a My Shared Documents folder in the My Personal Web Site folder. Use this folder to store the files that you want visitors to your site to access when they click the Access Shared Documents link.
- Click Start. When the control panel reads "Web serving is on," your Web site is up and running.
Until you turn Web serving off, Personal Web Server will continue to publish your Web documents as long as your computer is turned on and connected to a TCP/IP network. If you turn your computer off, your Web server will start publishing as soon as your Macintosh is turned on again.
